Tasaka Guri Guri Shop in Maui

Where mainlanders have chilled lemonade for their hot summer day snack, we have guri guri. The price has always been more than affordable, service is quick, and serves as the perfect snack for when the heat starts getting to you. I'm not much a fan of the pineapple flavor personally; strawberry has always been my go-to option. Really for the price, there is no comparison. A McFlurry from McDonald's will be halfway melted by the time I get back to my workplace and you can't exactly hold an ice cream cone while driving. There's not much reason to get a frosty from the Wendy's down the street when you can pick up a 2 scoop strawberry guri guri for half the price.

It was crowded but the line moved quickly. I wish we had one in Honolulu! You can also get it from them ready for your interisland airplane ride.

A must visit local destination in Maui. Pineapple and Strawberry frozen desserts were amazing, the family had to go back for a 2nd helping. ( Be aware , it's a cash only establishment )

It was okay. Definitely not sherbet as described. It was milky...thinking condensed milk. If you like milky/creamy sherbet then this is the place for you!

We had 2 scoops pineapple, 2 scoops strawberry. Great price, very fast service. I liked the pineapple the best of the two flavors.

My kids love this place. Really good value. We usually go there first and then to water play at Maui Mall.

Tried on a recommendation. They had two flavors(strawberry and pineapple). I had one of each. She scooped it super fast and people move through really quick. Scoops are small, but prices are really low. Very affordable and both flavors were delicious. I preferred strawberry, but you can easily get both based on scoop size and price. Only downside is that they are cash only. Highly recommend. Easy walk from NCL terminal.

Task Guri Guri is an awesome shop. I love their Strawberry flavor. I make sure to eat here every time I come to the mall, even when I come to eat lunch. One thing to remember about this place though, is they only take cash. Thankfully it's usually only a few dollars.This place definitely has a vintage atmosphere of old Hawaii. I hope it never ever goes away. Their secret Family recipe is more important to me than Coca Cola.

I have ate here before on hot days just because its cheap! I like the guri guri I just wish it was a little less sweet and the service was better. The last few times I have gone in there the employee didn’t acknowledge us or say hi. When we ordered she seemed rushed even though we were the only one's in there. Oh well

If you are ever in town you really need to check this place out iv lived on Maui my whole life and this has still been a favorite of mine hand down best place to get a nice cold treat on a hot day would not call is ice cream or shave ice or gelato don’t know how to explain the texture but you will definitely enjoy it. They offer a strawberry or pineapple flavor with pricing that you will not find anywhere else like literally cheap but the most amazing thing you will ever try. 100% recommend this place go check them out, family owned business only one in the world here on Maui you won’t regret it

A must stop for visitors to Maui. It's not ice cream. I believe Guri Guri is unique to Maui and whether you like it or not it is an experience of old Maui.

Classic sweet treats shop in the Maui Mall. I miss the days of azuki beans on top of 2 scoops strawberry and 1 scoop pineapple. 😋

Best ice cream maybe I’ve ever had? Lol only had pineapple and strawberry available but it was 10/10. And I don’t even like strawberries. FYI, strawberry tasted almost like bubblegum but was a pleasant surprise. BRING CASH.

The best sherbet where you always have room for after dinner.

Was recommended by a Maui local as a must do experience. Very small mom & pop ice cream shop. Only had two flavors and tried them both. Very light, creamy texture and very delicious. Price is very reasonable. Make this a must stop in Maui.

I don't have enough words to describe my love for this deliciousness. Two flavors, strawberry or pineapple, get them both and don't offer to share because you'll have to go back for more. Not quite sherbet and not quite custard ice cream. It's like the love child of just sweet enough creamed fruit and ice cream.

Since we live on O'ahu, we try to make it a point to make a pit stop here every time!They are quick! They usually only have the flavors strawberry & pineapple (which are my favorites!), so that's ok!Prices are CHEAP! So very affordable...If you want to take back quarts of their ice cream, you need to call 24/48 hours prior to order... so they can prepare for you! Be sure to keep that in mind & not forget... You'll love it!

Not sure what people are trying here but this stuff is just bad. I don’t want to slam them too hard because by the reviews people seem to adore this place. The shop was friendly enough and the price was cheap, but man this stuff is gross. Melted really fast and tasted like the bubble gum flavored nitrous I had at the dentist as a kid... so chemicals that are trying to mimic fruit I guess? If you grew up on it maybe you’d like it more but if you’ve never had it and enjoy real dessert you can skip this place.

Cheapest treat in Maui. Recommended to us by locals as a must have and would totally agree. Worth the stop, a cool treat for everyone to enjoy.

Guri guri is what maui kids ate when ever we went to the mall really inexpensive and brings out your child hood memories highly recommend this place to all visitors to the island.... 2 flavors strawberry and pineapple

While we were in Maui daily planning revolved around getting Guri Guri. Daily. I miss it now.

Hidden gem it is. Saw tons of local flocking in and out. Went inside and was treated to amazing icecream. They have just 2 flavours - strawberry and pineapple - but both are amazing. My family avoids these flavours normally, but here at this shop we needed to purchase multiple times.

Great pineapple flavor. Strawberry flavor tasted more like bubblegum, still good, but unexpected. Texture is more creamy like whipped gelato than the usual icy sorbet.

We came here for the Japanese ice cream which is fantastic and very inexpensive. It was recommended by a tour guide, and now I know why. Only 2 flavors were available but both were good, with a consistency somewhere between sherbet and shaved ice. The shop is small with just enough room for 2 or 3 customers, but service was friendly.

Got two scoops of each flavor (strawberry and pineapple), it’s a unique and wonderful taste. Sort of like the local strawberry samurai, but softer and the flavor stays longer. It’s difficult to explain, but worth trying. Family shop, inexpensive and oh so ono. The history on Wikipedia is worth a read too :)
